PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The new restaurant, NAO, is the creation of the Culinary Institute of America in San Antonio. While the restaurant will serve as a functional, real-world training platform for CIA students in specific programs, the restaurant will have it’s own look and feel, goals and mission as a commercial restaurant.

CHALLANGE
At NAO, bringing authentic ingredients and preparations through contemporary, culinary techniques and presentations will create a woven tapestry of flavors and an homage to the New World – New World Flavors. A unique branding package along with logo, color scheme, shapes and colors for use in the decore of the new restaurant, along with brand standards and outline of design documentation was needed to drive the finishing of the restaurant, provide direction and content for the creative used in the opening and then going forward, provide direction in the promotion of menus, events, etc.

SOLUTION
Brand design and identity package for the restaurant was needed to represent the name, the unique concepts and the individual goals and mission of the restaurant, and serve as an easy to understand the image of the restaurant as a whole. This branding and identity would need to flow out to other elements from restaurant decor to menus to special event collateral, social media, and more.

A photoshoot of a variety of items on the menu, focusing on the unique nature of the cuisine, the ingredients, plating and color schemes were needed to help round out the branding package and provide content for the opening of the restaurant and menus and events going forward.
